Fairness Docutrine in the Campaign
After listening to many of the Presidential debates for both sides, I didn’t hear anyone complain about the alcohol ads aimed at teeenagers, and only one candidate spoke in favor of restoring the Fairness Docutrine(Democratic Rep. Dennis Kusinich). Without the Fairness Docutrine the public has no mandating access to cable or network television. How about complaining about that to your favorite candidate?

The fairness Doctrine is an attempt to shut down talk radio. The reason is that stations would have to air alternatives to the current crop of talk radio hosts, but experience haas shown that the alternate programming draws few listeners and consequently few advertisers. Broadcasters would then will be forced to discontinue talk radio as we know it. This strategy is no secret since Democrat leaders have stated it as a policy.

The Fairness Doctrine would force the networks to hear from RID-USA on many topics the media doesn’t want to address, mainly the information about the high risk of death due to alcohol overdose. Alcohol ads are a rich source of revenue for the networks.

I wish someone would explain to me why we let corporations make money from our public airwaves and require nothing of them in return.
